Horse Floats, Trailers & Vehicle Import

You have or you are intending to purchase horse floats, trailers or vehicles from overseas and want to bring these into Australia.

As these are all vehicles (items that will be travelling on our Australian roads), you will need an import permit from the Department of Road Authorities prior to arrival into Australia. This import permit is not difficult or expensive to obtain.

You can nominate EIF as your Freight Forwarder and/or Customs Clearing Agent to the Department of Road Authorities and to your supplier overseas.

Carmen Leigh, here at EIF, is a self confessed horse lover and avid horse rider. Carmen has imported horse floats and all manner of horse related products into Australia for clients. There is very little she does not know about the equestrian industry and what is and isn't possible! If you're not sure about anything related to equestrian products, whatever they may be, please call EIF and ask for Carmen, she has turned her passion into a business.

Once you have decided to apply for this permit and/or pay (or intending to pay the supplier for your product) you may contact our office guide through the process - or handle it for you, hassle free. You need only to provide us with your supplier's contact details and we'll take care of the rest.
